January 7th
Sandeep Aggarwal starts writing the business plan for ShopClues.com during a flight from NCR to Bangalore
Feburary:Radhika Ghai Aggarwal (Sandeep Aggarwal’s wife) joins ShopClues.com part time to assist Sandeep Aggarwal.
March:Technology development starts.
June:Sandeep Aggarwal quits his full-time job on Father’s Day in June 2011; Sandeep Aggarwal incorporates ShopClues (Clues Network Inc.) with him as the single officer company in Delaware.
July:Mrinal Chaterjee joins as the founding team member; Technology platform is almost ready; team operates from Sandeep Aggarwal’s house in Silicon Valley; Radhika Ghai Aggarwal joins as second full time employees, as VP of marketing.
August:Sandeep Aggarwal by himself raises $1.95mil. angel round from his friends & social circle; Sanjay Sethi joins as the third employee of the ShopClues as VP of Product (though handled Operations). Chandan Sharma starts as the first engineer from Mumbai
Aug to Sep:Sandeep Aggarwal’s created Silicon Valley team moves to India and starts operating from Sandeep Aggarwal’s apartment in Gurgaon in Uniworld City.
October:ShopClues.com moves to an office in Gurgaon; Devesh Rai joins as founding team and VP of Business Development
Nov. 21st:
ShopClues.com launches as the 35th entrant into Indian E-Commerce under closed beta only via social media; Under Sandeep Aggarwal’s leadership, ShopClues became the first managed marketplace in India, first marketplace to offer fulfillment as a service (ShopClues Velocity) and loyalty points (Clues Bucks) and Buyer Protection with payment escrow type mechanism and detailed seller ratings and reviews; Sandeep Aggarwal personally spent nearly a year to create a very advanced and scalable platform to empower 15 million SMEs who are involved in retail; Team size 10

July:12,000 merchants; 1.4mn SKUs; Rs.4,500 crore listed merchandise value; nearly 1000 listing categories; new category Footwear; Y/Y growth north of 650% (probably the fastest in India).
Sandeep Aggarwal visited United States and met 6-8 global investors and planned to raise Series C for ShopClues at a target valuation between $150-225 mn (ShopClues was up nearly 10 times from Series B’s Term-Sheet)
August:Lakshadweep merchant sets up shop – ShopClues now has a merchant in every Indian state or UT
September:Launch of National Retail Heritage (NRH) featuring iconic marketplaces of India e.g Nai Sadak
Sandeep Aggarwal steps down as the CEO to deal with his personal situation, recommends the board to hire Sanjay Sethi as the new CEO, gives his board seat nomination to Radhika Ghai Aggarwal(his wife) and continues to provide vision, mentorship, guidance.

ShopClues became 5th Unciron in India in consumer Internet and 43rd globally: Sandeep Aggarwal remains the largest individual shareholder of the company.
